Jennie J. Markowski July 1, 1922 – April 26, 2018 Jennie J. Markowski, 95, Fort Myers, Florida, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 4:45 am in Page Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Fort Myers, FL. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, May 4, 2018 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm -7:00 pm, Thursday and from 9:00 am – 10:00 am Friday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel. She was born July 1, 1922 in South Chicago, Illinois to the late Anton and Jennie Bakse.

On November 25, 1950 in South Chicago, IL she married Walter J. Kowalski who preceded her on April 13, 1963. Then on October 1, 1966 in Michigan City, IN she married Edward Markowski who preceded her February 24, 2007. Surviving are her sister, Marie (Earl) Horecky of Fort Myers, FL.

and their families. Plus 4 nieces 2 nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine Pliske and Hedy Lauter; and her brothers, Anthony Bakse, Frank Magayne and Al Magayne.

She resided at St. Vincent Villas in Fort Myers for five years and was active in all their activities and made many new friends. Jennie was a member of the Western Slovakian Association, Chicago, IL and a former member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Contributions may be made to Donor’s Choice .
