Jennifer L. Johnson, 44, of Edgington went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 22, 2018 at her home. She was surrounded by her devoted mother and uncle. She had suffered a stroke November 2017.

Services for Jennifer will be 10:30 am, Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Western Township Cemetery, Orion.

Memorials may be made to the Animal Aid Humane Society, Moline. She taught history in the Quad City area after graduating from Monmouth College. She was a lifelong advocate of all animals and a dedicated volunteer at the Animal Aid Humane Society, Moline, Illinois.

Jennifer was a devout Christian all of her life. Those left behind to honor her memory are her mother, Kathleen Johnson; uncle, Gaylord (Betty) Helms; Cousins: Matt (Kathy) Helms, Doug (Tricia) Helms, and Lori (Carl) DePooter; grandmother, Shirley Johnson; special friend, Dorothy Addabbo; and Jennifer’s cats, “Sweetie Pie”, “Kami” and “Muffin”. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert, Jr.; her paternal grandfather, Robert Sr. and maternal grandparents, Marjorie and Gaylord Helms.
