Jerry Dale Morgan, 58, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:56 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Pastor Van Breeding will officiate.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Otter Creek Cemetery. Born January 28, 1960, in New Castle, IN, Jerry was the son of Gilbert and Virginia Humbert Morgan.

He had enjoyed working at S & G Electric until his retirement. Jerry also served 20+ years on the Cadiz Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed NASCAR and spending time with his grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by a daughter, Kim (Frank) Day of North Vernon; three grandchildren, Michelle (Adrian Baker) Day, Jacob (Brooke Salsman) Day and Frankie Day, all of North Vernon; four great-grandchildren, Amunique, Alakii, Jaxon and Amillyonna; a sister, Jackie Mills of Cadiz; and two brothers, Larry and Randy Morgan, both of New Castle. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mona White and Dean Sidwell; and a granddaughter, Kayley Day. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Riley Children’s Hospital.
