Charles Armand “Sonny” Briner, 75, of Indianapolis, passed away at 9:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018, at his residence. Born August 24, 1943, in Indianapolis, Mr. Briner was the son of the late Charles Kurtz and Helen Charlotte (Mastenik) Briner. He married his first wife, Pamela Sue Green, on December 16, 1972 in Indianapolis, Indiana; she preceded him in death on May 12, 2009.

He married his second wife, Jilayne L. Geyer Royce, on May 3, 2012 in Indianapolis; she survives. Mr. Briner was a 1961 graduate of Southport High School and attend University of Louisville, in Louisville, Kentucky. He worked in shipping and receiving for Horner Electric in Indianapolis for 20 plus years, retiring in 2016.

He enjoyed fishing and the Indianapolis Colts Football. Surviving with his wife, Jilayne Royce, of Indianapolis is a son, Dustin Fitzpatrick of Greenwood; daughter, Jessica (James) Bauer of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; brother, Robert (Sherry) Briner of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Seth Bauer, Jesse Bauer, and DaNica Bauer, all of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Brylan Fitzpatrick, Millie Fitzpatrick, Jaxxon Fitzpatrick, and Jamisyn Fitzpatrick, all of Greenwood, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Pamela.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, September 28, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Baldwin Cemetery in Vernon.
