Paul David Sims Sr., 70, of Commiskey passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Majestic Health Care in North Vernon. Born November 10, 1947 in Tell City, Mr. Sims was the son of the late Jessie and Ethel Cook Sims. Mr. Sims was a 1964 graduate of Tell City High School in Tell City and served in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1973 during Vietnam.

He worked as a supervisor for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus for 20 years and had previously worked for Southwest Marine in San Diego for seven years where he repaired Navy Ships. Mr. Sims enjoyed fishing, horses and mowing grass. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Sims of Commiskey; sons, Paul David Sims Jr. and Jason Sims of New York; daughter, Jennifer (Samuel) Eldridge of Hyden, Kentucky; brother, Ken (Amber) Brock of San Diego, California; sisters, Debbie Schmidt of Kenner, Louisiana, Donna Rose Piler of Phoenix, Arizona, Becky Korhonen of Reno, Nevada and Mary Chirgotis of Gilbert, Arizona and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Carolyn Herman, Gladys Chirgotis and Inice Sims. In keeping with his and the family’s wishes, last rites were given by Rev. Jerry Byrd and cremation followed.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
