Aug 20, 1928 – January 8, 2019 Jesse “Arn” Helsel Sr., 90, Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born in McKee, son of the late John C. and Mary (Miller) Helsel. In 1946, he married Allean M. David and she preceded him in death in 2008, after 63 years of marriage.

Surviving are three daughters: Mary Grace Helsel of Hollidaysburg, Kathy Kephart of Lakemont, and Sharon Baker and husband, Tom, of Duncansville; two sons: Jesse Jr. and wife, Cheryl, of Mill Creek and Chris and wife, Betsy, in Arizona; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Swope of Bakers Summit; and a brother, Ray in Ohio. Arn retired as a carpenter from PennDot in 1990. He was a member of the Vicksburg Grace Brethren Church.

He enjoyed antiques, being outdoors and spending time with his family Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. on Friday. Pastor Sean McGill officiating.

Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Allegheny Cardiovascular Institute, 320 E. North Ave. , Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
