Robert H. Stitt, 74, Hollidaysburg, died Sunday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Herbert and Helen (Blyler) Stitt. Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Debra J. (Wilt); a daughter, Robyn Dixon of Roaring Spring; a son, Robert F. and wife, Wendy, of Hollidaysburg; two stepsons: Fred Michael Wilt and wife, Rachel, and Andrew Wilt, all of Hollidaysburg; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a half-sister, Judy Mock. Robert was a 1962 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a 24 year veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves and retired from SKF as a step-up man, after 38 years of service.

He also was a hearse driver for 42 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg and a life member of both the Lakemont Volunteer Fire Department and the Phoenix Volunteer Fire Department. He also was a member of the Frankstown Sportsmens Club and Boy Scout Troop 32 of Hollidaysburg.

Robert enjoyed Penn State football, the Pittsburgh Steelers, NASCAR, hunting and fishing. Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, where a fireman’s service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2019, at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
