Obituary for Jesse Mountain Jesse Mountain, 81, of Erie, passed away on Monday April 30, 2018. He was born in Punxsutawney, PA on October 26, 1936 a son of the late Charles and Irene Frampton Mountain. Jesse worked as a truck driver with Birkmire Trucking, Gateway Transportation, Johnson Control, and most recently at Speed Motors.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and the St. Mary’s Club. He enjoyed driving truck, camping, woodworking, collecting pendulum clocks, and antiques. He could fix anything and was known as a jokester.
He especially loved spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Jess David Mountain; two sons in law, Kenny Stiegler and Bob Hannah; two sisters, Janice Cole and Fay Bailey; and one brother, Frank Mountain. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Marian Hlifka Mountain; five children, Diana Jablonski and her husband, Frank, of Harborcreek, Gary Mountain of Mercer, Darlene Stiegler of Erie, Cheryl Hannah of Erie, and Kathy Roth and her husband, Dan, of Williamsburg, VA; three sisters, Hazel Mountain of North Carolina, Dolores Grinnell of Erie, and Mary Ellen Wilson of Edinboro; one brother, LeRoy Mountain of Erie; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd. , on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to services there on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
