Obituary for Mary Harvey (Kircher) Mary A. Kircher Harvey, 89, of Erie, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday June 19, 2018. She was born in Groveton, PA on February 5, 1929 a daughter of the late Isaac and Ida Thompson Kircher. Mary worked as a sales clerk with Sears for 20 years before retiring in 1992 and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, reading, and especially spending time at camp. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 15 years, Dale H. Harvey; one son, Dale Bevan; three sisters, Irene Noss, Melinda McLaughlin, and Ruth Dwyer; and one brother, James Kircher. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Carter of Sewickly, PA and Lynda Harvey and her fiancé, John Boraten, of Erie; one son, Darryl Whiteside of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Jackie, Diana, Holly, and Dale and his girlfriend, Anna; several great grandchildren including, Rielleigh and Aurora; many nieces and nephews including her favorite nephew, John McLaughlin and his wife, Jane, of Madison, OH; and her good friend, Carol Gabbard of Erie.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd. , on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Regional Cancer Center, 2500 W. 12th St., Erie, 16505 or the American Heart Association, 3505 Embassy Parkway, Suite 100, Akron, OH, 44333. The family, in accordance with Mary’s wishes, respectfully requests any guests to avoid wearing black to the calling hours or funeral service.
