Obituary for Kathleen Muckinhaupt (Miller) Kathleen Miller Muckinhaupt, 54, of Erie, passed away on Saturday June 9, 2018 at St. Vincent Health Center following a lengthy illness. She was born in Pittsburgh on January 11, 1964 a daughter of Jerry C. Miller, Sr. and the late Theresa “Terri” Cianella Miller. Kathleen was a 1982 graduate of Mercyhurst Prep and went on to graduate from the St. Vincent School of Nursing in 1984.
She worked at Hamot Medical Center for over 15 years as an RN, a psychiatric nurse with Hamot Behavioral Health, and a CPR instructor. She also worked at Millcreek Community Hospital and most recently at Safe Harbor Behavioral Health. She was a member of Grandview Alliance Church.
Being with family and being an active member in her church were very important to her. She enjoyed reading, video games, amusement parks, roller coasters, and animals. In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, James Muckinhaupt; one daughter, Julie Sternberg and her husband, Michael, of Jamestown, NY; one grandson, Felix; one brother, Jerry Miller, Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Erie; and many nieces and nephews whom she was very close to.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd. , on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and are invited to services at Grandview Alliance Church on Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Burial will be private in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
