Obituary for Jessie Doris Nelson Jessie Doris Stegall Nelson, 103 of El Dorado, AR formerly of Strong, AR. passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Hudson Memorial Nursing Home in El Dorado. Mrs. Nelson was born May 10, 1915 in New London, AR, she was the daughter of Jessie and Bessie Turbeville Stegall.

A long time resident of Strong, she graduated from Strong High School and Practical Nurses Education in Camden. She retired from the Diagnostic Clinic in El Dorado after working as a nurse for 23 years. She had been an active member of the Strong Church of Christ since 1928.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, William H. “Pete” Nelson, one son, Ronnie Nelson, three brothers, Hubert Stegall, George Stegall, and Albert Stegall, a sister, Annie Lou Smith and a niece, Elizabeth Ann Burns. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Dottie Nelson, three grandchildren, Ronald Lee Nelson, Jerri Marie Nelson and Bill Nelson, three great grandchildren, Mandy Primm and husband Tony, Kila Bennett and Nicholas Nelson, four great great grandchildren, Ballard Lane Bennett, Noah Dalton, Nate Dalton and Gracie Nelson, all of Smackover, two nieces, Dolores Millican of El Dorado and Barbara Baker Hammons of TX and two nephews, Terry Stegall of Sherwood, AR and Dr. Phillip Stegall of Hot Springs, AR. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the Strong Cemetery with Bro.

Cullen Smith and Bro. Michael Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Strong Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR.
