Obituary for Jim Winn James Michael Winn, Sr., 65, of 11168 Mount Cross Road, died, Sunday, July 29, 2018 at his residence after a brief decline in health. Jim was born in Danville, VA on May 26, 1953 the son of the late James Russell Winn and Nora Slaughter Winn, who survives. Jim graduated from Tunstall High School and he was affiliated with R.J. Baldwin Agency, Inc
He was of the Baptist faith. On October 30, 1992, he married Charlene Farthing Winn, who survives of the residence. Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include sons, James “Jimmy” M. Winn, Jr and Jason Edwards; daughters, Diane W. Blair (Randy) and Jessica E. Gardner (Phillip); sister, Bonnie W. Adkins (Earl); six grandchildren, Meghan Blair, Mandi Blair, Jacob Edwards, Mickey Winn, Riley Edwards, Mattie Winn; and his beloved dog, Moose.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel conducted by the Rev. W.L. Wade, the Rev. Greg Robinson, and Mr. Bob Warren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home and at the residence at other times. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Tunstall Fire & Rescue. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is serving the Winn family.
