Obituary for Gearlene Franklin Scearce On July 13, 2018, Gearlene Franklin Scearce, of Danville, left this earthly life to spend eternity in heaven with God and those friends and loved ones who have gone on before. Born February 5, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Minnie Franklin of Danville. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her first husband, Waverly Scearce and their beloved daughter, Vickie Scearce Dalton.

She was also predeceased by her second husband, Sonny White, and sisters Helen Ratliff and Margie Smith. She was well known throughout the area as an expert seamstress and gardener. She was a member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church.

She loved to cook and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She is survived by her brother, Joel Franklin and wife Lana, of Clearwater, FL; along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 1:00 PM with the Reverend Daniel Lackey officiating.

Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 3907, Martinsville, VA The family wishes to extend its heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful staff at Roman Eagle who were so good to her during the last few months of her earthly life.
