Ms. Heather Sue Matherly, age 30, of 580 Grays Park Rd. , Danville, VA, died unexpectedly on September 23, 2018 at her residence. Ms. Matherly was born on May 18, 1988 in Danville, Virginia to Penny Wilson Matherly and Fred Matherly Jr

Ms. Matherly worked as a CNA at Sovah Health – Danville and she was a member of Dan River Church. Left to cherish her memory along with her parents are her three children, Conner Matherly, Nathan Bernard, Savannah Bernard; her sister, Danielle Farmer; her brother, Fred Matherly III; her ex-husband, Nick Bernard; her mother and father-in-law, Charles Bernard and Trudy Bernard; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Ms. Matherly was predeceased by her grandmother, Emma H. Dillard.

A Graveside Service will be conducted Friday, September 28, 2018 at Danville Memorial Gardens at 2:00PM with Reverend Scott Randlett officiating. Visitation will be held at Swicegood Funeral Home, Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 6:30 – 8:30PM. At other times the family will be at the home of Thomas Huffman, 801 Peach Orchard Rd.

, Axton, VA as well as at the home of Charles and Trudy Bernard, at 1060 Berry Hill Rd. , Danville, VA. Swicegood Funeral Service is respectfully serving the Matherly family.
