Obituary for Earl Wayne Presley Earl Wayne Presley, 71, of 3320 Stony Mill Rd, Danville, VA died on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Sovah Health after being in declining health for the past 2 years. Mr. Presley was born on November 19, 1946 in Amonata, VA, son of the late Clarence Ervin Presley and the late Vera Magnus Presley Sowers. He spent most of his life in the Danville area where he was a supervisor for Dan River Mills and later worked at Nestle until his retirement.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of Shermont Baptist Church. He was known for his love of fishing and singing. On June 27, 1967, he married Belva Horton Presley who survives of the residence.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Presley is survived by sons, Scotty Presley and wife Charlene and Jason Presley and wife Crystal all of Danville, VA; sisters, Loraine P. Simpkins, Sue P. Scearce, Debra P. Matthews and Karen P. Barber all of Danville, VA; and grandchildren, Austin, Blake, Aaron and Ava. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Robert Sowers; and brother, James Presley. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Reverend Ryan Riley officiating.

Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the American Legion Dan River Post 1097 and the US Army. The family will receive friends on Friday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence of his son, Jason Presley, 255 Stoneridge Dr, Danville, VA 24541. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial donations be made to the Danville-Pittsylvania County Cancer Association at 233 Riverside Dr Suite J Danville, VA 24541 or to Shermont Baptist Church Building Fund at 781 Mt Cross Rd, Danville, VA 24540.
