Charlie Morris Jr, September 02, 1930 — September 18, 2018

Obituary for Charlie Morris Jr. Charlie Nathaniel Morris, Jr., 88, of 111 Nunnally Rd South, Pelham, NC died on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at his residence after being in declining health for several months. Mr. Morris was born on September 2, 1930, son of the late Charlie Nathaniel Morris, Sr. and the late Zelma McKinney Morris. He spent all of his life in the Rockingham and Caswell county areas where he was a graduate of Ruffin High School class of 1948.

He went on to retire as a farmer. He was very active with community youth coaching both little League Baseball and Midget Football in Caswell County, NC. He was a member of Pelham United Methodist Church where he was the caretaker of the church cemetery, the president of the United Methodist Men, and served as a mentor for the youth of the church.

He had a lifelong love of animals, was a gentle giant and loved feeding his birds. On June 10, 1950 Mr. Morris married Adele Walton Morris, who predeceased him in 2007. Mr. Morris is survived by daughter, Bambi Holland (Danny) of Pelham, NC; sons, Scott Morris (Sue Anne) of Pilot Mountain, NC and Jeff Morris (Toni) of Danville, VA; sister, Laura Jane Jefferson (Don) of Stuart, FL; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Pelham United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nathan Webb, the Rev. Lee Eggers and the Rev.

Sue Anne Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church and at other times will be at the residence 111 Nunnally Rd South Pelham, NC 27311.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Pelham United Methodist Church, PO Box 82 Pelham NC 27311.
