Obituary for Florence Yeatts Florence Suit Yeatts passed on to her Heavenly reward at Sovah Hospital, August 31, 2018. Born to the late James Garland Suit and Martha Williamson Suit, August 13, 1926, she is survived by her loving children, H. Leon McCarter (Karen), Cindy Peters and the late Tony Peters, and Kelvin Rakes. She has one surviving brother, James H. Suit (Joanne).

She was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 1 brother. She was the very proud grandmother of Kristi McCarter Coleman, Scott McCarter (Cathy), and Timothy Peters (Sara). Her special angels were her great grandchildren, Carleigh Coleman (Ottoway), Drew McCarter, and Taylor McCarter; and two great-grandchildren Brantley and Macie Peters.

She was a lifelong member of Stokesland Baptist Church until her decline in health. She loved her Sunday school class and her teacher Mildred Hall. A special thank you to her three caregivers, Mary Martin, Wanda Eanes and Dorothy Slayton, the doctors and fifth floor staff of Sovah Health and a special family friend Lewis Crews.

Mrs. Yeatts experienced a career in food service all her adult life, retiring at age 80 as associate manager with Aramark of Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wrenn Yeatts Westover Chapel with the Rev. Bob Yeaman officiating.

Interment will follow the service in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence of her son, Harvey McCarter, 105 Pine Hill Circle, Danville, VA 24540. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is respectfully serving the Yeatts family.
