Obituary for Iris Blanks Carter Iris Eaton Blanks Carter of 162 Overlook Dr. Madison Heights, VA died on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Riverside Health and Rehab after being in declining health for several months. Mrs. Carter was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on March 13, 1937, daughter to the late Mary Lizzy Hayden Eaton and the late Willie Edward Eaton. She spent most of her life in the Danville and Lynchburg (Madison Heights) areas where she worked as a receptionist for the Danville Register and Bee for several years, then Simplimatic for 12 years and finally Foster Electric until her retirement.

She was a member of the Baptist Tabernacle for many years and attended several churches in the Lynchburg area as well. On July 16, 1983, she married Sterling A. Carter who survives of the residence. In addition to her husband Mrs. Carter is survived by daughters, Tammy B. Martin of Danville, VA and Donna B. Brande of Blairs, VA; sister, Mary Guill of Danville, VA; grandchildren, Allison B. Arenas, Courtney Brande, Brandon Martin; niece, Susan Jones; nephew, Larry Guill; and numerous relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel with the Rev. Tim Wilde of Yellow Branch Baptist Church of Rustburg, VA officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence of her daughter, Donna Brande 181 Blairs Court Lot 10, Blairs, VA 24527. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial donations be made to a church or a charity of your choice. Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is respectfully serving the Carter family.
