Obituary for Johnny Garrison Kenneth Wayne (Johnny) Garrison, 69, of 120 Stephens Road, Providence, NC, went home to be with the Lord suddenly on Friday, October 12, 2018, after several years of declining health. Johnny was born in Caswell County on November 7, 1948, a son to the late Claude Daniel Garrison, Sr. and Dollie Mae King Garrison. He had lived all of his life in Caswell County and he moved to the Providence community in 1976.
Johnny was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School, Class of 1968, and he had retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, due to his health, with over 33 years of service working as a Tire Builder. Johnny was a member of the Lively Stones Baptist Church in Pelham, NC. He loved his family very much and no one enjoyed fishing any more than Johnny.
On April 14, 1979, Johnny married, Debra Potter Garrison, who survives of the residence. He is also survived by two daughters, Lisa Michele Garrison, of Greensboro, NC, and Jennifer Lea Garrison (Brad Norton), of Providence, NC; two sons, Brian Michael Garrison, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Joshua Wayne Garrison and wife Jessica, of Pelham, NC; one brother, Claude Garrison, Jr. and wife Linda, of Yanceyville, NC; two sisters, Mary G. Fuqua, of Yanceyville, NC, and Debra G. Cox, of Pelham, NC; his father and mother in law, Jesse and Maggie Norton, of Reidsville, NC; and eight grandchildren, Caroline Michele and Kayla Brooke Garrison, Jaydyn Kennedy and Kyndall Taylor Walker, Alexandria Grace and Landon Seth Norton, and Logan Wayne and Oliva Grey Garrison. Johnny was predeceased by his parents; one sister, Carolyn Everette; and one grandson, Brenton Walker.
A Memorial Service for Johnny will be conducted on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. from the Lively Stones Baptist Church with the Reverend Michael Kent officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. and at other times they will be at the residence, 120 Stephens Rd. , Providence, NC, 27315.
