Obituary for Shirley McFarling Cassada Nance Shirley McFarling Cassada Nance, 89, formally of 1440 Little Creek Rd, Ringgold, VA went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center after being in declining health for several years. Mrs. Nance was born on March 10, 1929 in Danville, VA daughter of the late Harry Montgomery McFarling and the late Shirley Whitler McFarling. She spent all of her life in the Danville area where she worked for Dan River Mills and then went on to work for C.I.T. where she was the office manager until her retirement.

She was a member of Grace Design United Methodist Church. Mrs. Nance was known for her love of gardening, playing Bingo and she also loved to take trips to Atlantic City. She was first married to the late A.B. Cassada, Sr. and then she married Alfred Wayne Nance who died on November 28, 2017.

In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by brothers, Harry McFarling, Jr. and Tommy McFarling; and sisters, Helen Adams and Janie Wilson. Mrs. Nance is survived by daughters, Sue Barker of Danville, VA and Kay Holley of Myrtle Beach, SC; son, A. B. Cassada, Jr. and wife Vickie of Danville, VA; sisters, Carolyn Blair, Linda Gover, and Martha Athey; grandchildren, Kelly Barlew, Scott Holley, Mike Cassada, and Chris, Cassada; and seven great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Burial Park.

Interment will follow in the cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to the Danville Life Saving Crew at 202 Christopher Ln Danville, VA 24541. Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel is respectfully serving the Nance family.
