Obituary for Joyce White Blalock Joyce White Blalock, 79, of 173 Martindale Dr, Danville, VA went home to be with her Lord on Fri. , Nov. 9, 2018 at Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Health Care Center after being in declining health for several months.

Mrs. Blalock was born in Shelby, NC on August 11, 1939, daughter of the late Hubert Allen White and the late Hazel Grigg White. She spent most of her life in the NC and SC areas before moving to the Danville area in 1978. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church where she was the church secretary and organist for many years.

She was married to the late Rev. William C. Blalock for 59 years, who she supported throughout his ministries. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, David White; and a niece Lisa Morris Mills.

Joyce is survived by two daughters, Joy Holt and husband Wayne, of Eden, NC, and Hope Adams, of Danville; three grandchildren, Tabitha Holt, Michelle Darling, and Kieth Darling; one great grandchild, Alina Posey; sisters, Ruth Stevens, Nancy Ozzell, Betty White, Carolyn Morris (Willie), Sarah Elliott, and Brenda Roundtree; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted on Wed. , Nov.

, 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Danville Memorial Gardens with the Reverend David Turbyfill officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery. The family will be at the residence, 173 Martindale Dr, Danville, VA 24541.
