Mrs. Evelyn Reed, age 88, of Danville, VA, passed away on Thursday, October 04, 2018 at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on January 29, 1930, in Pittsylvania County, VA, to the late William Thomas Turpin and Virginia Royal Turpin. Before her retirement, Mrs. Reed worked as a computer operator for Dan River Mills and attended Riveroak Church of God.

She is survived by her special niece, Patricia New and husband, Ernie of Danville, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reed was predeceased by her husband, Hasten Francis Reed; and siblings, Marion Wade, Iris Scott, William Thomas “Bill,” William J. , James Aubury, and Irvin W. Turpin, Catherine Travis, Stella Vaughn, Cordie Merricks, and Doris Ingle. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 06, 2018 at Highland Burial Park with Rev.
