Obituary for Mary Smith McIntosh Mary Geraldine Smith McIntosh, 72, of 225 Bachelor Hall Farm Road, Danville, VA, died Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Caswell House, Yanceyville, NC after a decline in her health since 2014. Mary was born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina on August 9, 1946, a daughter of the late Oscar Smith and Sadie Poole Smith. She lived most of her life in Belmont, North Carolina and retired from Belmont Hosiery.

She was of the baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Dunnam, two brothers, two sisters, and a grandson. Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Liles (Matthew), of the residence, and Loretta Phillips (Mark), of Concord, NC; a brother, Dwayne Smith; a sister, Terrie Benge; nine grandchildren, Samantha Davidson (Nick), Hunter and Sydney Liles, Allen and Michael Moore, Ashley, Emily, Elizabeth and Jacob Dunnam, and six great grandchildren.

A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in Highland Burial Park with the Reverend Jeffrey Wright officiating. At other times the family will be at the residence, 225 Bachelor Hall Farm Road, Danville, VA. The family suggest that memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association of Danville/Pittsylvania County, 308 Craighead Street, Suite 104, Danville, VA 24541.
