Obituary for Eddie Berkley Duffer Eddie Berkley Duffer, 70, of Danville, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at SOVAH Health-Danville. Mr. Duffer was born in Halifax County, VA on October 1, 1947, a son of the late Berkley Jeffries Duffer and the late Sarah King Duffer. He had lived in the Danville area for the past forty years, where he worked for Dan River Mills until his retirement.

He was a faithful member of Woodlawn Baptist Church where he was a member of the Sunday School. In his spare time, he loved playing baseball, hunting, and spectating NASCAR racing. He will be remembered by all as an outgoing and friendly man who never met a stranger.

He was married to the love of his life, Cathy Joyce Duffer, who survives of the residence. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Eddie Berkley Duffer (Marsha), of Halifax, VA; three grandchildren, Courtney Duffer, Ryan Duffer, and Adelyn Duffer; a brother, Tommy (Juanita); two sisters, Shirly and Joyce (Baxter); two sister-in-laws, Jo Adams and Liz Duffer; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Dot; and two brothers, Wade and Glenn.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 6:00 PM at Woodlawn Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Childres officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:00-5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church, 2500 Westover Dr., Danville, VA, 24541 or to Danville Life Saving Crew, 202 Christopher Lane, Danville, VA, 24541.
