Obituary for George Henry Norton Jr. George Henry Norton Jr., of Danville, Virginia, was born on February 1st, 1943 and went home peacefully in the presence of his loving family on September 22nd, 2018. Predeceased by his father George Henry Norton Sr. and his mother Nannie Aaron Norton, also of Danville, Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Shelby Jean Smith of Pittsylvania County.

George “Henry” Norton Jr. joined the Navy in 1960 and was stationed on the USS Intrepid, also known as The Fighting “I”, and was honorably discharged in 1964. Henry was a member of the Local 10 BTJ Pipefitter United Association. He is survived by six children, George Henry Norton III and his wife Elaine West-Norton, Christy Gregory and her husband Kelly Gregory, Victoria Brewer and her husband Ricky Brewer, Melissa Norton, Christopher Norton, and Ashley Norton and her wife Star Norton.

Henry was a dedicated grandfather to nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial tributes to the Mount Cross Road Fire Department where he served as a member for many years, 4812 Mount Cross Road, Danville, Virginia 24540. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is respectfully serving the Norton family.
