Obituary for Frances Carroll Coley Capps Frances Carroll Coley Capps, 76, of Sutherlin, VA, went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at SOVAH Health-Danville after a decline in health for the past few months. Mrs. Capps was born in Rocky Mount, NC, on March 2, 1942, a daughter of the late Mabry Curtis Coley, Sr. and the late Nina “Tellie” Greene Coley. She lived part of her life in Rocky Mount, NC, before moving to the Sutherlin Community in 1984.

She was a full time wife and mother who was devoted to caring for her children and grandchildren. She was a former member of Benvenue Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, NC. She was a current member of Laurel Grove Baptist Church.

She was a mentor for Book Buddies as Kentuck Elementary School. In her spare time, she enjoyed feeding the humming birds and other creatures that came to play in her yard. She will be membered by many for her random acts of kindness that blessed their lives.

On December 30, 1960, she married the love of her life, William Earl Capps, Sr., who passed away on December 12, 2004. She is survived by two sons, Edward “Eddie” Capps and wife Robin, of Sutherlin, VA, and William “Billy” Capps, Jr. and wife Rhonda, of Rocky Mount, NC; four grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, Tyler, and Justin Capps; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, M.C. Coley, Jr; and two sisters, Jane Coley Higgins and Geraldine Coley Batts.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the graveside at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, Rocky Mount, NC, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Wayne Ellis and the Rev. Dr. Michael Creekmore.

The family will receive friends Sunday night at the funeral home from 7:00 to 8:00 PM and at other times will be at the residence of her son Eddie Capps, 1378 Double Creek Rd. , Sutherlin, VA, 24594. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Benvenue Baptist Church Building Fund, 2464 Benvenue Rd.
