Obituary for Sally Marie Crandall McVay Sally Marie Crandall McVay, 66, of Danville, VA, died on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at her residence after a decline in health for the past few years. Mrs. McVay was born in Cooperstown, NY, on May 25, 1952, a daughter of the late Elbert Jefferson Crandall and the late Goldie Gretina Grainer. She lived most of her life in the Danville area where she was a homemaker.

She was very proud of all her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She was also known for her love of animals. She was of the Christian Faith.

On August 15, 1970, she married Larry Wade McVay, who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Larry “Wade” McVay, II and wife Kristy, of Lake Charles, LA; a daughter, Crystal Rogers and husband John, of Lexington, SC; four grandchildren, Santanna Griffin, Austin Wampler, Tegan Rogers, and Mary Rogers; two great grandchildren, Marty Cox and William Cox; a mother-in-law, Lucille Jenkins; two sister-in-laws, Dianne McVay and Bonnie Whitaker; a brother-in-law, Johnny McVay; and a special aunt, Clara Purnell. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal funeral services.
