OBITUARY Jo Ann McAndrews Duncan June 12, 1934 – July 16, 2018 Jo Ann Duncan She was born Jo Ann McAndrews, but through her life gained many titles. Wife, Mom, Grandma, Day Day, Ha-ha, The Bull, Sister, nurse, great-grandma, great-great-grandma, Jody and many more. How ever you knew her, you knew her as a bringer of light and love.
Jo Ann was born on June 12, 1934 to William and Mary Agnes McAndrews and went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 16, 2018 at the Hour of Mercy. Jo Ann’s name means “God is gracious” and that was a foundation for her devout Catholic faith. She believed we needed to love God with all of our heart, all of our mind and all of our strength, and to love others as we love ourselves.
Jo Ann was a compassionate woman who worked as a nurse, raised 7 children and poured deeply into her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her parents William and Mary Agnes McAndrews, her brother and her sister-in-law William “Stack” and Greta McAndrews, her sister and brother-in-law Rosemary and Ray Berry, her late husband William Travis Duncan, her son Wilfred Anthony Olivier, her grandson Christopher Paul Hammack, her friend Kendall Bleam and other friends and family. She is survived by her children, Linda Stevens, Michael and Theresa Olivier, Jacqueline Olivier, Janice and Dwight Stahl, Kevin and Jennie Duncan, and Teri and John Canal, 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Though she will be missed, her legacy of love will be carried on for generations to come. Visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will held at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 705 St. Theresa Blvd.
Sugar Land, Texas on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 2:00pm. A Rosary will be recited at 1:30pm. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
