(Lewis) Latham, 87, of Noank, CT, beloved wife of Richard E. Latham, died Friday, January 4, 2019 at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London. She was born in New London, CT on February 9, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Harry and Ethel Lewis. She was a very active member of the Noank Baptist Church serving for many years as a Deacon, President of the Ladies Aid and Prison Ministry.

Joan and her husband enjoyed travelling, especially taking their children and grandchildren to Disney World numerous times. In addition to her husband Richard, of almost 67 years, she is survived by her sister, Cynthia Borden, son, Mark and spouse Jackie, daughter, Johanna Paradis and spouse John, and eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Shawn, Sarah, Ben, Zachary, Aubrey, North and Tyler, and three great-grandchildren, Warren, Sky and Parker and one niece, two nephews and one great-niece. A service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, January 26th at 2 p.m. at the Noank Baptist Church, 18 Cathedral Heights, Noank, CT .

Following the service, family and friends will share memories of Joan in the church vestry. Her burial will be private at the Noank Valley Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

We would like to thank the members of the Noank Fire Department for all their help over the past year, the wonderful nurses at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, and friend and trusted home-aid, Tilani. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Noank Baptist Church.
