Obituary for Mrs. Joan M. Bernosky Joan M. Bernosky, 88, of Owensboro, died March 28, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Owensboro on October 8, 1929 to the late Edward T. Merimee and Mary I. Fuqua Merimee. Joan retired from the State of New Jersey and Green River Comp Care.

She was a member of St. Joe & Paul Catholic Church, and was very involved in her church, especially bereavement dinners. She volunteered at the RiverPark Center and enjoyed cards, hiking and bowling. Along with her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Adam A. Bernosky, who passed away in 1983, and her son, Curtis “Skip” Johnson, Jr. Joan is survived by her children, Ray Johnson of Owensboro, KY, David (Constance) Bernosky of Southampton, NJ, Carolyn (Charles) Bryant of Owensboro, KY, Constance Young of Southampton, NJ, her step-daughter Debbie (Jim) Wolter of Owensboro, KY, 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 on the way.

She is also survived by her sister Pat Leach of Owensboro, KY, daughter-in-law Patricia Johnson of Owensboro, KY, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at St. Joe & Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Monday 11:00 to 12:30 p.m. at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory.
