Obituary for Joan C. Kordys Joan C. Kordys RACINE – Joan C. (nee: Walters) Kordys, 86, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Ascension-All Saints. She was born in Portage, WI on August 13, 1931, the daughter of the late Robert and Isabelle (nee: Drees) Walters. Joan was united in marriage to Robert Kordys on November 8, 1952 in Milwaukee.

She had been a nurse’s aide at an orphanage in Milwaukee. Joan enjoyed cross-stitch and was an avid reader. Surviving is her husband, Bob Kordys and daughter Kathy Kerl all of Racine, granddaughter, Kate (Bobby) Brunnelson of Michigan.

She is further survived by her best friend, Bev Friedrich, other relatives and friends. Joan was preceded in death by a son Steve and grandson, Nicolas Scheller. In keeping with Joan’s wishes, private services have been held.
