Joan’s Obituary Joan Marie (Gerlach) Evans of Lansdale, PA passed away suddenly on January 7, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Mildred (Werdabach) and William Gerlach. Born on November 23, 1937, in Sellersville, PA, Joan grew up in North Wales and attended Little Flower High School (now Lansdale Catholic).

She also attended Temple University for many years as an adult student and excelled in history and fine arts classes. An avid painter, Joan displayed and sold her work for many years while working as a bookkeeper at the Lansdale Medical Group. Many will remember Joan from her work as a Realtor with Apollo Realty and later, Remax Central in Lansdale.

Joan loved to spend time outdoors in the garden or riding her bike, and enjoyed traveling with Mark, her longtime companion. She cherished her time with her family, especially the grandchildren. She loved to laugh and will be remembered for her colorful sense of humor.

She is survived by sons Jeffrey (Jill), Jay, Rob (Julie) and Adam (Paula) Dietterich, her beloved grandchildren Corin Dietterich Dickinson (James), Robbie Dietterich, Natalie Dietterich and Corey, Brian, Tyler, Aaron and Dylan Dietterich, and her longtime companion, Mark Helmus. Family and friends may call at the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave. , Lansdale on Friday, January 11 from 5:00-6:00 PM, with a service immediately following at 6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan’s name may be made to the American Heart Association.
