Ms. Joan Johnson, a resident of Ozark, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018, in Flowers Hospital following a brief illness. A memorial service for Ms. Johnson will be held at a later date. Ms. Johnson was born November 20, 1955 in Ozark.

She worked with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, retiring following twenty-one years of service. Joan was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, friend, and most of all, aunt. Her nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces were all very special to her.

She will be missed greatly by all her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her father, Travis Neil Johnson, Sr.; and great-nephew, Nicholas Gage Johnson. Survivors include her mother, Adella Natalie Pasterczyk Johnson of Ozark; two sisters, Paula Dawson (Fletcher) of Auburn, Carol Ann Holder (Jerry) of Auburn; four brothers, Travis N. Johnson, Jr. of Barataria, Louisiana , David M. Johnson, Sr. (Julie) of Somerset, Kentucky, Timothy Johnson (Jan) of Ozark, and Gordon S. Johnson of Ozark; nieces and nephews, Stella Johnson, Lillie Johnson, Travis N. Johnson, III, Brian Johnson, David Mark Johnson, Jr., Nicholas Cole Johnson, Jason Paul Johnson, Jordyn Dawson, Samantha Dawson, Rachel Holder, Amelia Holder Ross (Gavin), and Caroline Holder; several great nieces and nephews; and her fur-babies, Fendley and Ella.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to your local Humane Society because she was an advocate for humane treatment of animals.
