Joaquin’s Obituary Joaquin F. Medeiros, born in Merced county on December 22, 1936 to parents Joe and Louisa Medeiros, died on February 16, 2019 at his home in Newman surrounded by loved ones. Joaquin pursued a variety of occupations throughout his lifetime. Together with his first wife, Mary Ann, he farmed, raised cattle, and ran other business adventures.

Additionally, for many years, he drove truck for a number of businesses. He passionately devoted himself to each of his endeavors. Most memorably, Joaquin shared friendship with many for a lifetime, including Gustine High School classmates that he joined monthly for lunch, previous coworkers with whom he visited regularly, and others who had impacted his life.

He is survived by his daughters, Irmie Azevedo (Tim) and Joyce Mitchell (R. B.); grandchildren, Shane Azevedo, Jennifer Saunders (Jimmy), and Lance and Ryan Mitchell; five great grandchildren; and a myriad of other family members and friends, including Margarita Davila, his loving companion and caregiver. He is pre-deceased by his second wife, Shirley.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm follow by a Rosary at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, February 26th at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 27th at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman. Interment to follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman.
