Joe Calvin Rogers was the son of Walter Rogers and Emily Dixon Rogers, both deceased. He was an Alamance County native and attended the local schools. He worked for several years with Burlington Industries and Mayfair.

He was a loving and devoted companion to Lutretia for over 35 years and a loving father to all four of his daughters. He was a member of Arches Grove United Church of Christ. He is survived by his companion: Lutretia Ann Moore; 4 daughters: Debbie McLean (Darryl), Cathy Jones (Jerry), Rita Moore and Marilynn Moore; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; three siblings: Bobby Rogers, Garon Rogers, Shirley Rogers, Faye R. Corbett.

He was preceded in death by three siblings: James Rogers, Maude Lea Bradsher and Betty McCandies.
