Mr. William Eugene “Mike” Atwater November 30, 1944 – February 06, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mr. William Eugene Atwater, fondly known as “Mike,” was born in Alamance, North Carolina to the late Lonnie Atwater and the late Elizabeth Stone Atwater on November 30, 1944. He departed his earthly life for his heavenly home on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. William was educated in the Alamance County school system.

He worked in textile for many years, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was baptized at St. Matthews AME Church in Saxapahaw, North Carolina. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Atwater and a sister-in-law, Elaine Atwater.

He leaves to cherish lots of fond memories to his daughter, Shakisha Necole Haith of Graham; four sons, Tony E. Lee, Lonnie Baldwin, both of Chapel Hill, Anthony Kirkpatrick of Burlington and Terry Goode of the home; two brothers, Charles Atwater (Addie) of Graham and Coy Atwater of Mebane; one sister, Caroline Alston (Larry) of Swepsonville; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and friends like family. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Alamance Funeral Service with Rev. Darryl Carr officiating.

His interment will follow in Farr-Marr Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service in the chapel and all other times, at the home. Online condolences may be made at alamancefuneralservice.org.
