OBITUARY Joe Temple March 16, 1943 – October 15, 2018 Joseph “Joe” Chalmers Temple, age 75 of 9388 NC Hwy. 27 East, Benson, NC passed away on Monday Morning, October 15, 2018 at his home with his children by his side. Joe was born on March 16, 1943 in Graham, NC the son of the late Joseph Henry Temple and Marian Lunsford Temple.

Joe was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was retired from Guilford Mills as a Human Re Manager. After retirement Joe also worked part time with Tart’s Strawberry & Produce of Dunn. Joe was a member of Hodges Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a Superintendent, Sunday School Secretary and Teacher.

He was a present Trustee and past Deacon. Joe was very active in the church always there to help others and be of service to the church in many ways. He loved cooking and feeding others, it was a passion of his.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Hodges Chapel Church with Rev. Michael Preddy, Kelvin Blackmon, Randy Carter officiating.

Burial will follow in Church Cemetery with Military Honors. He is survived by his wife of 38 years: Debbie Ivey Temple of the home. His Special Fur Baby:Chloe’ A Son: Terry Temple & (wife) Lori of Hope Mills, NC Daughters: Lisa Lynne Temple of Charlotte, NC; Lynette Rae Temple & spouse Carol Ann Turner of Phoenix, AZ.

; Donna Barefoot Valley & Brian of Coats, NC; Ruth Taylor Tart of Buies Creek, NC. Sisters: Sheryl Langley & Bill of Raleigh, NC; Kimberly Kaufman of Tenn. Grandchildren: Amber Riddle & A.J. of Grays Creek, NC; Rachel Temple of Hope Mills, NC; Dawson Valley & Kirsten Valley of Coats, NC The family will receive friends Wednesday Evening from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Hodges Chapel Church and at other times at the home Memorials may be made to: Friend Fighting Cancer, Inc., P.O.
