Gasbarre, 85, of 101 North Broad Street, Ridgway, formerly of Johnsonburg, died Monday evening, Nov. 19. 2018, at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a brief illness.

He was born on May 31, 1933, in Ridgway, to Zachary and Angela DiNardo Gasbarre. On July 21, 1979, he married Eva DiIulio in Holy Rosary Church; she preceded him in death on Jan. 23, 2016.

John lived in Ridgway for the last two years, and had lived in Johnsonburg for over 35 years. He had lived in Ridgway prior to his marriage. He graduated from St. Leo’s High School in 1953, and was a member of the Holy Rosary Church as well as the Johnsonburg Senior Center.

He had worked at the Sinterphase in Johnsonburg for seven years, but was primarily a self-employed machinist doing secondary work for many companies in the area. John is survived by one sister, Martha Smith of St. Louis, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews. Beside his parents and wife, he was predeceased by brothers, Robert, Victor, Dominic, George, Zachery Jr. and Gene Gasbarre; sisters, Julia Ellard, Elizabeth Rees, and Louise Gasbarre in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial for John A. Gasbarre will be conducted at the Holy Rosary Church on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. Rev. Justin Pino, pastor of St. Leo Magnus Church, Ridgway, will be officiating.

Burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Johnsonburg. Friends will be received at the Anthony F Ferragine Funeral Home 401 Chestnut Street Johnsonburg, on Saturday morning, Nov.
