Edward J. “Pep” Morrone February 28, 1950 – July 15, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Sympathy Gifts Upload Photo| View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Edward J. “Pep” Marrone, 68, 31934 10 Avenue, Spirit Lake, Idaho died Sunday morning, July 15, 2018, at home following a lengthy illness. Ed was born on Feb. 28, 1950, in Ridgway, son of Joseph and Margaret Addeo Marrone.

He resided in Spirit Lake since 1976 and was formerly of Johnsonburg where he graduated Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1968. Ed was an outdoorsman, which helped him become adept at his hobby of woodworking, creating carvings out of driftwood. He raised turkeys for a while and enjoyed cooking Italian dishes, such as his specialty, Polenta, and introducing them to his Idaho friends.

He was a Vietnam Era Navy Veteran, serving as a radarman 3rd class aboard the USS Genesee at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He was a self-employed industrial and house painter and had also worked at Stackpole Carbon Co. of St. Marys. Ed is survived by his ex-wife, Karen V. Marrone of Spirit Lake, Idaho, with whom he remained friends, and who was at his bedside when he left this world; Douglas Ford of Montana, whom he reared and loved as a son; his sisters: Patricia Bloam of Johnsonburg; Nardina Pontious of Johnsonburg; and Gloria, Mrs. Richard Hoyt of Johnsonburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cecelia Spowal, brothers-in-law: Charles “Bud” Bloam, Joseph Spowal, and George Pontious. A Mass of Christian Burial for Edward J. Marrone will be conducted at the Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg on Friday, July 27, 2018, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Justin Pino, pastor of St. Leo Magnus Church, Ridgway, officiating.

Interment will be held at the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg. Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg, Friday morning from 8:45 a.m. until Mass time at 10 a.m. Military Honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg Servicemen’s Detail.
