Samsel, 78, of 320 Woodland Avenue, Johnsonburg, died Thursday afternoon, Aug. 30, 2018 at her residence with her family at her side following a brief illness. Margaret was born on June 1, 1940 in Ridgway, daughter of David and Delma Mecca Irwin.

She married Samuel Samsel, Jr. on April 13, 1995 in St. Johns’s Lutheran Church, Johnsonburg, and he survives. She resided in Johnsonburg most of her life and graduated Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1958. She had lived briefly in DuBois.

Margaret was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her family, she loved animals and especially her beloved dogs. She was an avid crafter.

She had worked at Sylvania for many years, retiring in 1996. She had also worked at Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital for several years as a Nurses Aide. In addition to her husband at home, she is survived by daughters: Andrea Huber of Johnsonburg; and Michelle, Mrs. Michael Wurm of Kersey; a son, David Michael and his wife, Dawn; a step-son, Sam Samsel III, of Voorhees, New Jersey; and a step-daughter, Shayna Samsel, of Ridgway.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Aaron and Melonie Huber, Sarah Haske, Joshua and Emily Michael, Isabella Shall, and Norah and Saylor Papa; and by two great-grandchildren, Patrick and Angelika. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service for Margaret D. Samsel to be conducted at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Johnsonburg on Friday, Sept.

7, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Stephen Fair, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be held at Wardvale Methodist Cemetery, Johnsonburg.

There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut Street Johnsonburg, Pa. If desired, memorial contributions should be made to American Cancer Society of Elk County, 117 N. Michael St., St. Marys, PA 15857, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Pl.

, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 E. Eschbach Rd. , St. Marys, PA 15845.
