Obituary Julianna “Jay” Kematick Rio Julianna “Jay” Rio, 93, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Christ the King Manor. She was born on Christmas Eve, 1925, to the late Frank and Mary (Kuzeluk) Kematick and was married for 63 years to Rocco “Dutch” Rio, who preceded her in death in 2010. Living all her life in Penfield, Jay was a graduate of Huston Township High School class of 1943.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Force and she lived her life devoted to family and faith. Jay enjoyed crocheting, growing colorful flowers, and baking her popular pepperoni rolls and cinnamon nut rings. Jay is survived by three children, Bonnie (Tom) Ferraro of Columbus, Ohio, Gary (Bonnie) Rio of Scattertown, and Lori (Tom) Gasbarre of Treasure Lake; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Taylor of St. Mary’s and Nellie Longo of DuBois.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jay was also preceded in death by her brothers, Mike Kematick and John Kematick and her sister, Olga Kematick Rio. There will be no public visitation. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, with Rev.

Mark J. Mastrian, celebrant. Burial will take place next to her husband in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Christ the King Manor or St. Joseph Catholic Church and will be accepting online condolences at www.
