John A. Ostop, 72 of Greensburg, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. John was born September 24, 1946 a son of the late John and Evelyn (Laurich) Ostop. John received his bachelors degree in electrical engineering in 1968 from Carnegie Mellon University.

After graduating from CMU he traveled to California to work and study at USC where he received his Masters Degree. He returned to the Greensburg area and started working at Westinghouse Semiconductor Division in Youngwood. After many years of service he accepted a position in Baltimore, MD working for Westinghouse.

A few years later, Westinghouse became Northrop Grumnan. John and his wife, Dianne retired in 2006 and returned to Greensburg. John holds several patents with Westinghouse and Northrop Grumman.

Locally, John was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne (Resnick) Ostop to whom he was married 35 years; a son, Chris Resnick; a brother, Steve Ostop and wife Janice and their family, Morgan Frycklund (Erik) and Jacob Ostop (Sara); a sister, Antoinette Domingue and husband Ray and their family Lucy and Andre Domingue; brother in law, Richard Resnick and wife Bonnie and their family Shauna and Adam Resnick. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-6 pm at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC.

524 N. Main St. Greensburg. John’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9:30 am in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. (Everyone please go directly to the church.
