John’s Obituary KEEPSAKE VIDEO TRIBUTE John Anthony Wachinger passed away Thursday January 10, 2019. John was born May 15, 1940 son to the late German immigrants George and Theresa Wachinger. He is also preceded in death by his beloved wife Virginia “Gin” and his brother George.

He was proud to have grown up on the South side of Columbus, attending St. Leo Elementary School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School, graduating in 1958. His professional career was in distribution, first with Consolidated Freightways then through many of his own companies, primarily DISCON Services. John loved the Indians and Buckeyes, attending many games and hosting tailgates for his customers and family.

But nothing exceeded his love for his family. John is survived by his daughters Gina Wachinger, and Janelle (Joe) Obergfell, grandsons MacGregor, Jason and Dustin Obergfell; sisters Mary Thurn, Anne Susi, brother-in-law, Joseph (Christine) Finocchi and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Monday 4-8pm at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI Funeral Home, 1068 S. High St. Prayer service 5 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Tuesday at St. Leo Catholic Church, 221 Hanford St. Father Jerry Rodenfels, celebrant. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery. “Because you loved us we have been changed for good”.
