John B. Reamy, 88, of East Moline, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Park Vista Retirement Community in East Moline. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 18, 2019, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. in Moline. Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estate. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. John was born on April 4, 1930, in Shelby County, Missouri.

He was born the son of Thomas B. Reamy and Corean D. Butler Reamy. John served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Lydia “Sue” Wood in Shelbina, Missouri on February 19, 1949.

John worked at John Deere Harvester until 1987. He then spent his time as a handy-man helping family and friends. John was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in East Moline, The Moline Viking Club, East End Boulders Club, Svithoid Club and The American Legion Post #246.

He also served as a Leader in The Boy Scouts of America. Survivors include his wife, Lydia “Sue” Reamy of East Moline; sons, Allen (Melinda) Reamy of Hampton, Ken (Terri) Reamy of East Moline; daughter, Linda Simoneau (Mike Wohlers) of Omaha, Nebraska. Also, are 6 grandchildren; Lisa (Paul) Mattison, Michelle (Nathan) Williams, Sarah (Ben) Stockwell, Jessica (Mike) Kean, Eric Reamy, and Travis Simoneau (Amanda Alback).

John is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and his sister, Mary Francis Brengle. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and a sister.
