John “Buddy” Edward Campbell, 65, of Russellville, AL died Monday, October 15, 2018. Visitation will be Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. The service will be Friday, October 19, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the chapel.

Minister Danny Winningham will be officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. He was a Veteran of the United States Marines where he served during the Vietnam War.

Once out of the Military, he was a police officer for Haleyville City, town of Bear Creek and town of Phil Campbell for five plus years, then he became a truck driver for Mays Wholesale Flowers. He went into his family business as a brick mason for many years as he approached retirement, he was asked once again to be a trucker for Mid-Tenn Express. John was a member of Hopewell Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.R. and Lois Campbell; brother, Wayne Campbell; grandson, Jesse Ayers. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Campbell; daughters, Misty Campbell Vandiver and Kristy Berry Warren (Greg); brother, Donnie Campbell (Debbie); sisters, Diane Hulsey (Jimmy), Gail Massey, and Kathy Franklin (Neal); grandchildren, Chasady Brooke Vandiver and Emily Faith Warren, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital at Attn. Memorial Honor Program FH One St. Jude Place Building 1000 Dept. 300 Memphis, TN 38148-0552.
