Obituary for John Butler John James Butler was born on October 25, 1923in Georgetown, KY to the union of Deacon DH and Olivia Butler. He departed this life on May 26, 2018. He was the oldest son of DH and Olivia.
John confessed his faith in Jesus Christ ay an early age. He remained a dedicated servant of GOD throughout his entire life. John graduated from Ed Davis High School in 1942.
He attended Lexington school of Engineering until he enlisted in the United States Navy and served during World War II. Upon receiving a honorable discharge John married his high school sweetheart Dorothy in 1946. Together they relocated to Inkster, MI.
After moving to Michigan John continued his education at Lawrence Tech University. To support his family he worked at Ford Motor Company. Eventually he started working in insurance sales.
His passion for sales led him into a lucrative career in the sales of Audio and Video equipment to schools and colleges throughout Michigan. John used his professional skills as a tool for building the kingdom of GOD and spreading the gospel. He developed and implemented Audio and Video ministries at several churches.
By recording worship services he was able to deliver them to the sick and shut-in. John had a special administrative anointing for the organization of new churches. He was not afraid to get his hands dirty and gladly pitched in with the construction of these edifices.
John was instrumental in organizing and constructing Second Baptist Mt Sinai which later became Amity Baptist, all in the city of Inkster and Gethsemane Missionary Baptist of Westland. John was a charter member of Gethsemane and remained there until his transitioned. John was preceded in death by his patents Deacon D?
H and Olivia, his siblings; Mattie Ethel, Genie and William. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Dorothy of 71 years, one sister-in-law Phyllis (William), two sons; Ronald (Juanita) and Donald (Maxine), seven grandchildren; Keith, Kendall, Frederick, RonSher (William), Latonya, Jennifer, Joshua, 10 great grandchildren, Robert, Dujuan, Emanuel (Ashley), Andre, Olivia, Madison, Denzel, Jordan, Lauren, Kennedy, one great great grandson; Arthur, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
