John E. Baker, 54 of Everson, passed away early Monday morning, May 14, 2018, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, while in the presence of his loving family. He was born August 8, 1963 in Jeannette, the son of the late Louise Baker. John attended Hempfield Area School District and graduated from Central Westmoreland Career and Technical Center.

John enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching as many Westerns as he could and Jay Leno’s Garage on Television. John is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His Loving and devoted wife of 29 years, Charlene R. Layton Baker, whom he married October 15, 1988.

His Three Children: Jacob A. Baker and his wife Heather Joshua E. Baker Tara J. Baker all of Everson His Two Granddaughters: Chloe and Zelda Baker His Sister: Bobbie Baker Skerrett and husband Frank of Panama City, Fla. And their children, Peggy, David, and Donald. John’s pet dog “Jaycee”, passed away the same day as his Master John’s family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, Tuesday from 4PM – 8PM and Wednesday from 10 AM to 10:45 AM where his Funeral Service will begin at 11 AM with Pastor Neil Stevens of New Hope Alliance Church, Officiating.

Entombment will follow in Middle Churches Presbyterian Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Funeral Care Fund on the Funeral Home website where John’s obituary is listed.
