Clara M. Skovira Connors, 92, of Scottdale, died Tuesday morning, July 17, 2018, in UPMC East, Monroeville, while in the caring presence of her family. Clara was born October 16, 1925 in Scottdale the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Markovich Skovira. She was a longtime and faithful member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale.

She was a graduate of East Huntingdon High School Class of 1943 and a graduate of the former Franklin Commercial College of Connellsville. She was a legal secretary for the late Attorney William McDowell of Scottdale and previously she had been employed during WWII at Robertshaw Controls of Youngwood. From 1968 to 1976 Clara was a secretary for the former Martinsek Motors of Scottdale.

She was a member of the former Scottdale Senior Citizens Organization. Clara was also an avid reader. Clara was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother to her family.

Pleasant Joseph Connors and wife Julie of Greensburg Ellen Branthoover and husband Kevin of Mt. Pleasant Her Twelve Loving Grandchildren: Leah Barley and husband Brian of S.C. Erin Zimmerman of Pittsburgh Jared Zimmerman and wife Jamie of Scottdale Ryan Hernley and wife Leia of Scottdale Christina Hart and husband Michael of Connellsville Adam Connors and wife Lauren of Scottdale Jacob Connors of Greensburg Megan Hough and husband Rich of Scottdale Nathan Garrett of Texas Matthew Garrett of Greensburg Her Great Grandchildren: Tyler Hernley of Mt.

Pleasant Colby Hernley of Scottdale Ava & Caleb Hart of Connellsville Lakin Connors of Scottdale Caydence Garrett of Texas Logan Hough of Scottdale In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by: Her loving Husband of 65 years, A.J. Connors (September 18, 2015) Siblings: Helen Scarton, Sylvester Skovira, Edward Skovira, Ethel Warzinski, Charles Skovira, James Skovira, Frances Chlebowski and Two Sisters in Infancy. Clara was the last surviving member of the immediate Skovira family. Clara’s family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale, Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 2 – 4PM & 6- 8PM.

Parting Prayers will be held in the Funeral Home, Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10:30AM, with her Funeral Mass to be celebrated in the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church at 11 AM, with her Pastor, Rev. Andrew M. Kawecki, as Celebrant. Committal Services and interment will follow in St. John Parish Cemetery, Scottdale.
