Victor E. Szymanski, 83, of Scottdale, passed away peacefully, early Sunday Morning, October 28, 2018. . He was born February 22, 1935 in Donegal, a son of the late Victor and Bridget Forys Szymanski.

Victor was a Devout Catholic and active member of the Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale, prior to his illness. Vic was a Graduate of Connellsville High School Class of 1953. He was a retired Mechanical Repairman at U.S. Steel Clairton Works, with over 40 years of service.

He was Veteran of the U.S. Army with 15 years of Service with the Army Reserves. Vic was a 50 year member of the Scottdale Volunteer Fire Dept. Company #4, Joining July 19, 1966.

He served as the First Aid Captain for many years, when the Fire Dept. operated the Ambulance Service. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Fire Department in 2000.

Irgang and husband Richard of Scottdale Sondra “Sonnie” Christopher and husband Allen of Carmichaels His Grandchildren: Chad Hurst of Scottdale Dr. Chelsie Geyer and husband Jason of Maryland Anthony Irgang and wife Dom of Maryland Alex Christopher of Carmichaels His Great Grandson: Jaxon Irgang of Maryland Special Cousins: Barbara and Mary In addition to his parents, Vic was preceded in death by: His loving wife of 58 years, Naidene S. Stewart Szymanski (May 12, 2014) His Sister: Bernice Szymanski His Step Father: Shannon Lewis who raised Victor. Vic’s family and friends are cordially invited to the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 Pittsburgh St. Scottdale Tuesday from 4PM to 8PM.

Parting Prayers will be held in the Funeral Home at 9:30 AM Wednesday, with his Funeral Mass to follow at 10 AM in The Partner Parish of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Scottdale, with his Pastor Rev. Andrew M. Kawecki, as Celebrant. In lieu of Flowers, those who wish to remember Vic in a special way, may make gifts in his memory to the Scottdale Volunteer Fire Department, 150 Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale, PA 15683 Entombment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
