John Edward Pugh, 92 of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2019. John was born on May 17, 1926 in Upland, Indiana. John served in the Army during WWII and received several commendations.

John was the fifth generation owner of his family farm in Upland, Indiana, homesteaded in 1832. John and his family moved to Arizona in 1958. There, John was employed by Valley National Bank for twenty years.

While John had a variety of interests, his family remained at the center of his heart. John will be remembered for his creativity, positive outlook, and sage advice to those who knew him. John is survived by his four daughters: Nancy (Ron) Winger, Mary Ann Joyner, Lorraine (Charles) Schriefer, and Amy (Carl) Gassmann; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his father Paul, mother Effie, sister Ruth Etta, and his loving wife of forty-seven years, Mary Jane (Bragg). A Celebration of Life will be held in Upland Indiana at the Shiloh Cemetery on September 1, 2019. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to one of John’s favorite charities, Victory Acres at victoryacres.org or to your favorite charity.
